The pursuit began in Warren County when a car refused to stop for police just before 8 a.m. Though, it's unclear why police wanted to pull him over. That kicked off a chase that stretched dozens of miles and ended along Interstate 66 at mile marker 47 in Prince William County, said Corinne Geller, spokesperson for the Virginia State Police.

The driver, whose name was not released, crashed into three state trooper cruisers during the chase. No injuries were reported.

Police took the man into custody without further incident, and charges are pending, Geller said.
